Accountant

Patterson Companies, Inc. is seeking an Accountant who will be responsible for financial accounting and controls for the business. The primary responsibilities include facilitating the monthly close process and ensuring the maintenance of accounting controls and processes.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly accounting close process for the business
• Prepare key accounting analyses and related journal entries, account reconciliations and management reports
• Preparations of financial statistics and information at appropriate daily, weekly, and monthly intervals
• Support business projects from an accounting and control perspective
• Support a strong control environment
• Hold self and others accountable for continuous improvement for internal controls

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 1-5 years of experience in public accounting or relevant industry experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to apply them to recurring transactions
• Excellent prioritization & organizational skills to manage multiple deliverables
• Verbal & written communication skills that provide direct, succinct messages and can be understood by financial and non-financial business partners
• Ability to identify areas of improvement and work with management to optimize processes
• Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Previous experience with SAP
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
