Part-Time Bookkeeping Support (QuickBooks Online required, Nonprofit Focus) Remote US Based (must reside in the US) 15 hrs/week, fluctuates with client workload | Flexible weekday schedule (between 8am–4pm CST), Remote US Based (must reside in the US) We’re a small, remote team supporting nonprofits with clear, reliable financials. We’re looking for a detail-oriented accounting assistant who can work independently inside QuickBooks Online and communicate professionally with clients. About the schedule — what “flexible” actually means here This role doesn’t have a set weekly schedule, and there’s real flexibility in how and when the work gets done. But that flexibility has a boundary: work happens during business hours, Monday through Friday. Here’s why that matters: • Clients work during business hours — and they expect timely, professional communication during that window • Checking client email twice daily is a baseline expectation: once in the morning, and once in the mid-to-late afternoon (around 3–4pm CST) • The hiring manager works during business hours and engages with this person about work tasks during that time Think of it as freedom with constraints. The schedule is yours to shape but it lives inside the workday, not around it. This is not a role that can be worked in the evenings, on weekends, or squeezed in between other full-time commitments. What this role looks like We’re hiring a part-time accounting assistant to support our bookkeeping team with day-to-day transaction work and organization inside QuickBooks Online. This role supports the bookkeeping team while also communicating directly with clients to keep information complete and accurate. You’ll work closely with one senior-level partner day-to-day. We’re a small team & the right fit here is something of a diamond in the rough: someone with real QBO competence, clean communication habits, and the kind of quiet reliability that doesn’t need a lot of oversight to perform well. What you’ll do • Review and organize receipts, statements, and supporting documents (Dext, Google Drive, email) • Match documentation to transactions in QuickBooks Online • Record and categorize transactions using established guidelines • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and flag discrepancies • Communicate directly with clients to request missing information, clarify transactions, and respond to questions in a clear, professional, and timely way • Maintain clean, consistent file organization and naming conventions • Support light prep work for monthly financials What you’ll need • 1–3 years of bookkeeping, accounting support, or similar experience • Working knowledge of debits and credits and basic accounting principles • Recent, hands-on QuickBooks Online experience (required) • Comfort working across multiple clients or sets of books • Clear written communication skills and confidence interacting with clients • Strong attention to detail and consistency in repetitive workflows • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment Nonprofit experience is a plus, but not required.
