The Liberal Arts Program under The College of Arts and Humanities at Eastern University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, remote Program Director at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July/August 2026. We seek an educator and administrator who is eager to join a forward-thinking, vibrant academic community dedicated to Eastern University’s mission of faith, reason, and justice.
Candidates will be responsible for contributing to Eastern’s rapidly growing online programs and be a champion for online innovation in the College of Arts and Humanities. As Program Director, the successful candidate will work closely with the Dean of CAH on strategic planning for program development in the department. Special consideration will be given to those with prior experience with online teaching and program coordination. Additional faculty responsibilities include scholarship, advising students, program administration, committee service, and college/university activities.
The Assistant Professor and Program Director of the Digital Humanities is a full-time, tenure-track, remote faculty position within the College of Arts and Humanities. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and advising while overseeing the management (recruitment, hiring, scheduling, mentoring, evaluation, etc.) of faculty teaching in the newly created M.A. in Artificial Intelligence Innovation program and related programs within CAH. As a faculty member, the successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will involve teaching core courses (online) such as Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, AI for Everyday Innovation, AI for Teaching and Learning, Multimedia Production: AI and the Creative Process, Media Literacy in the AI Era and/or AI in Innovation Capstone course, in addition to administrative duties in the management of the program. The faculty member will also have the ability to create new courses based upon expertise.
