Modern Woodmen of America is one of the nation’s largest fraternal benefit societies, and they are seeking a third-shift Computer Operator to execute and monitor real-time and batch programs and systems. The successful candidate will operate computer equipment, prepare operation schedules, and communicate with IT staff regarding job scheduling and production status.
Responsibilities
- Operates computer equipment for scheduled, special, and test programs
- Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and EOY operation schedules and reports, analyzing projects to determine best schedule for production
- Receives and transmits data among third parties and monitors production processing
- Monitors printing systems so that the files are ready to be printed
- Works with external hardware and software vendors to schedule maintenance, software/hardware updates or changes
- Records and logs all production job errors, warning and operations problems
- Communicates with appropriate Information Technology staffing concerning job scheduling, production status, and equipment/program malfunctions
- Maintain Operational and Computer Room documentation for internal and external audit requirements
- Perform other duties as directed
Skills
- Associate degree or specialized training in computer operations or related field
- Intermediate knowledge of working with Windows OS Servers
- Working knowledge of batch systems, including monitoring and relaying critical incidents to the appropriate parties
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team structure
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
