Consumer Cellular, Inc. is a wireless provider focused on serving Americans aged 50 and above. The Corporate Counsel will provide in-house legal support, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contractual agreements to support the company’s business activities.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate various documents, including contracts, related to, among other things, non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, marketing, products, and professional services
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to meet business objectives and ensure compliance with local and federal laws and regulations
- Interprets laws and regulations and provides legal advice and counsel with the goal of ensuring organizational compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Researches and anticipates unique legal issues that could impact the company
- Reviews advertising and marketing materials to ensure that they are in compliance with legal requirements
Skills
- Juris doctorate degree from an ABA accredited school
- Licensed to practice law from a State Bar Association
- Typically 1-6 years of legal experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong negotiating analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts directly and clearly
- Ability to work both independently and with multiple teams
- Common sense, great judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a sense of humor
- Great teammate with demonstrated skills to work effectively with colleagues and business clients
- Results oriented with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ethical and professional integrity
- Understanding of technology with some experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
- Knowledge of wireless products and services and previous corporate in-house experience a plus
