Creative Production Intern — En Face Magazine & New York–Based Dance Publishing Projects
Are you passionate about dance, ballet, and the performing arts, and eager to gain hands-on experience in arts publishing?
En Face Magazine is seeking Creative Production Interns across multiple tracks: Editorial, Design, Photography & Visual Research, Marketing & PR, Digital Publishing, and Operations.
Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
Time Commitment: 10–20 hours per week
Duration: 3–6 months (semester-based or seasonal)
Start: Rolling, aligned with production schedules
Reports To: Assigned Team Lead + Project Manager
About the Program
En Face Magazine supports ballet and dance organizations through high-quality print and digital publishing. Our internship program is built around real production work: interns are embedded in live teams and contribute to materials that ship. This is not an observational internship — you’ll be a trusted collaborator, gaining hands-on experience in professional arts publishing. Each intern is paired with a primary internal lead and assigned a defined scope of work aligned with one of the tracks below.
Internship Tracks & Responsibilities
Editorial Intern
Assist with producing print and digital content, from research to publication.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct research on artists, companies, performances, and trends
• Draft, format, and proofread editorial content
• Upload and tag content in CMS platforms
• Support newsletter and publication production
• Maintain archives and organize editorial assets
• Attend editorial meetings and assist on live projects
Requirement: Include 1–3 writing samples.
Design Intern
Support the visual production of print and digital publications.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with layout, formatting, and preparation of content
• Conduct visual research and prepare asset libraries
• Retouch, resize, and format images for various platforms
• Support branding and visual consistency across projects
• Collaborate on special editorial or marketing design projects
Requirement: Include a digital portfolio showcasing design or visual work.
Photography & Research Intern
Assist with image sourcing, permissions, and visual research.
Responsibilities:
• Source and organize photography assets
• Conduct historical and archival research
• Track image credits and usage permissions
• Prepare visual materials for publications and social campaigns
Marketing & PR Intern
Support campaigns promoting En Face Magazine and its content.
Responsibilities:
• Draft social media posts and marketing copy
• Assist with email campaigns and audience research
• Engage with influencers and partners
• Support event promotion and marketing initiatives
Digital Publishing Intern
Assist with website updates, content management, and digital campaigns.
Responsibilities:
• Upload and format content on websites and digital platforms
• Support email and social campaigns
• Track analytics and reporting
• Help maintain digital asset organization
Operations Intern
Support internal project workflows, organization, and documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Update trackers and organize project files
• Assist project managers with production timelines
• Coordinate internal and external communications
• Support cross-department production needs

Intern Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program

• Familiarity with Google Workspace; Adobe Creative Suite or CMS experience is a plus
