As a Customer Service Agent at arenaflex, you'll play a pivotal role in our operations, representing our brand at ticket counters, baggage services, and gate areas. You'll be the ambassador of exceptional service, ensuring every interaction leaves a positive impression on our valued passengers. What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As an integral member of our customer support team, you'll be responsible for delivering unparalleled service to travelers, cargo customers, and baggage service users. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Warm Welcome & Assistance: Greet all customers in a friendly and professional manner, creating an inviting atmosphere from the very first interaction. Your positive attitude will set the tone for their entire travel experience.
- Ticket Processing & Reservations: Handle all aspects of ticketing and check-in using our state-of-the-art retail point-of-sale system. This includes making reservations, issuing boarding passes, and managing related transactions efficiently.
- Financial Transactions: Process various forms of payment including cash, checks, credit cards, travel vouchers, and coupons. You'll calculate fares, make change accurately, and balance daily transactions with precision. Accountability for overage or deficiency is essential.
- Baggage Services: Check in passenger baggage and cargo, ensuring proper handling and documentation. You'll manage baggage routing, tagging, and coordinate with ground operations to ensure smooth loading and unloading.
- Phone & Information Services: Answer incoming calls to provide accurate flight information, respond to general inquiries, page customers when needed, and resolve issues or complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Customer Recovery: Handle situations involving overbooked flights, delayed or cancelled flights, and lost, delayed, or damaged baggage. You'll resolve these challenging situations quickly and within company guidelines, turning potentially negative experiences into positive ones.
- Flight Information: Provide current and accurate information regarding fares, schedules, reservations, and flight arrival/departure times. You'll serve as a reliable information source for customers and visitors at the airport.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete required forms, reports, and documentation as mandated by the company. This includes writing anomaly and complaint reports as needed.
- Operational Support: Assist with boarding procedures to ensure airplanes are loaded efficiently and on time, working under close time constraints to achieve quick aircraft turns.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with colleagues to ensure the overall success of our operations, supporting your team members and contributing to a positive work environment.
- Additional Duties: Perform other job-related responsibilities as directed by your supervisors, adapting to the evolving needs of the station and operations.
What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Technical Skills: Ability to type and use a computer keyboard with sufficient speed to meet job demands. Proficiency in Windows-based applications and the ability to learn new software systems quickly.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively over the phone, in person, and through public address systems.
- Document Comprehension: Ability to read documents, follow instructions, and learn tagging procedures, rules, and regulations thoroughly.
- Interpersonal Abilities: Strong ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team. Comfortable meeting and interacting with the public from diverse backgrounds.
- Problem-Solving: Capability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally, finding solutions to customer issues efficiently.
- Training Requirement: Must successfully complete the Customer Service Specialist training program with an 80% or greater average, followed by a satisfactory evaluation period.
- Appearance: Must maintain a well-groomed appearance in accordance with the Ground Operations Employee Handbook and Work Agreement.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform all job functions within limited spaces and meet any physical capacity requirements as outlined in the job description.
- Safety Awareness: Must be aware of hazardous situations and able to handle emergencies as they arise.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous customer service experience in retail, hospitality, or transportation industries
- Familiarity with airline reservation systems and ticketing procedures
- Multilingual capabilities (Spanish is highly desirable given the Florida location)
- Cash handling experience with strong mathematical skills
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Knowledge of airport operations and procedures
