As a Financial Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of our financial data and driving business decisions.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Data Analyst to join our Information Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with financial data from across planning, accounting, invoicing, and payments, and building models to analyze them and drive business direction. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and experience working with financial data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with financial data from across planning, accounting, invoicing, and payments, and build models to analyze them and drive business direction.
- Check and guarantee accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data.
- Act as a subject matter expert on call for inquiries from colleagues related to data quality issues and help resolve those issues.
- Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines and utilize workflow management tools like Windstream.
- Test and validate code changes made in our datasets and investigate any data issues connected with code changes.
- Own the process to perform incessant, repeatable operational data reporting, and respond to specially appointed demands for data and analysis.
- Prepare written reports, presentations, infographics, and other data visualization materials.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience as a BI Analyst or Financial Data Analyst.
- Experience working in the finance sector and familiar with common financial reporting metrics.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, such as pivot tables, queries, and macros.
- Strong SQL skills and ability to build and run complex queries across multiple data sources.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools like Tableau, Sigma, or R.
- Strong analytical skills, data-driven thinking skills, and a sharp eye for data quality.
- Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written English), and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with remote cross-functional colleagues across time zones.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ETL pipelines and workflow management tools like Windstream.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and data governance principles.
- Experience working with large datasets and performing data analysis.
