**Job Summary**
As a Principal Engineer – Data Analytics & Science, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of data scientists and engineers, developing and implementing data analytics and science solutions, and driving business insights through data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and IT professionals, to design, develop, and deploy data analytics and science solutions that meet the needs of our business.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of the team
* Develop and implement data analytics and science solutions, including data modeling, data visualization, and machine learning
* Drive business insights through data-driven decision-making, working closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy data analytics and science solutions
* Develop and maintain data quality guidelines and best practices, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data
* Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data analytics and science, evaluating their potential impact on our business
* Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that our business leaders have the insights they need to make informed decisions
**Essential Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Science, or related field
* 15+ years of experience in data analytics and science, with a strong background in data modeling, data visualization, and machine learning
* 5+ years of experience in leadership or senior roles, with a proven track record of successfully guiding and leading teams
* 5+ years of experience working with cloud-based technologies, including ADLS, Databricks, and other large data platforms
* Strong skills in data analysis and visualization tools, including Conos, PowerBI, SQL, Python, and R
* Experience working with cloud-based platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
* Strong understanding of Lakehouse engineering standards, including the best practices for data lakes and data warehouses
* High-level SQL skills, with a strong understanding of social data sets and business data capacity
* Experience managing high-volume and high-speed data streams, and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time analysis
* Experience in molding the essential vision for data analytics and science drives within an organization
* Effective management of data analytics projects, including planning, execution, and delivery
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Science, or related field
* Important industry certifications, such as Certified Data Scientist or Certified Analytics Professional
* Experience in retail, manufacturing, e-commerce, or supply chain management
* Strong understanding of data governance and data quality best practices
* Experience working with big data and NoSQL databases, including Hadoop, Spark, and Cassandra
* Strong skills in data engineering, including data pipeline design and implementation
