**Job Summary**
As a Packaging Strategy Lead – Data Management and Compliance, you'll play a critical role in driving the development of packaging strategies for our owned brands, private label, and travel packaging. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for packaging streamlining, establish best practices for scale, and support sustainability initiatives. Your expertise will help us create packaging solutions that are visitor-driven, on-brand, competitive, and category-relevant, driving sales and brand love.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Develop and maintain fundamental data requirements, scientific classification structures, and specific loyalty standards to support packaging plan streamlining and sustainability efforts across all owned brands.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders, including procurement, design, store operations, marketing, supply chain, properties, and compliance program owners, to establish relevant data requirements and adaptable guidelines that reflect our commitment to safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
* Create and manage change cycles to ensure accurate packaging documentation management portfolios across multiple systems and partner groups.
* Develop, implement, and execute innovative training and communication programs on assets, both internally and externally, to drive extensive understanding of standards, details, and data precision best practices.
* Assess data requirements, standards, and details to advance safe, sound, and savvy solutions that align with industry standards, improve good design practices, are consistent with risk resistance assumptions, and maintain a leadership position in the industry.
* Provide support and guidance to cross-functional teams and colleagues to ensure proper interpretation and implementation of packaging data requirements, standards, and details.
* Collaborate with suitable internal regulation and guideline informed authorities to identify effects on current data requirements and standards, take action to mitigate risks, and recognize opportunities for compliance.
* Work with cross-functional global partners to drive effective communication and roadshows around expressed objective advancement, compliance, and data precision best practice requirements and assumptions.
* Utilize data to identify patterns or issues, in conjunction with technology groups, to measure the effectiveness of training delivered and communications sent.
* Investigate industry trends and review Target's corresponding data and standards practices, share insights and suggestions with the appropriate audience for change and compliance.
* Provide leadership and direction to others, driving effectiveness and efficiency in the team in results.
* Create and maintain a positive team culture by exhibiting behaviors consistent with Target's values of Inclusivity, Connection, and Drive; ensure ongoing, effective communications to the team, and support individualized growth by offering regular performance feedback, training, recognition, and assessment.
**Requirements**
* 4-year degree or equivalent experience
* 4+ years of experience creating and managing documentation and guidelines projects, ideally including packaging design and development
* Ability to influence without authority, manage projects, work with teams, resolve conflict, build consensus, establish rapport, and collaborate successfully, both internally and externally, across all levels of an organization
* Experience with documentation best practices, technical writing, and reporting
* Skilled at creating and advising on engaging, structured, and effective training programs, roadshows, and communications
* Experience driving teams or projects, driving collaboration, strengthening, and cooperation
* Strong analytical, critical thinking, creative thinking, and scientific abilities
* Related knowledge with packaging or customer products manufacturing preferred
* Strong relational and hierarchical abilities
* Adaptability and resilience; open to working in uncertain and constantly changing conditions
* Ability to focus, manage multiple tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work, communicate, and lead in a highly collaborative environment
* Strong capability in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Vizio applications
