Position Overview: Manager, Data Analytics
As the Manager, Data Analytics at arenaflex, you will serve as the primary data analysis partner for cross-functional teams across our music and entertainment divisions. You will be responsible for driving data-informed decision-making by translating complex business questions into actionable analytical solutions. Your work will directly influence strategic planning and help shape the future of our music discovery, marketing, and content distribution channels.
This role requires a deep curiosity about consumer behavior, a strong foundation in statistical analysis, and the ability to communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. You will work with massive transaction-level datasets, develop predictive models, and translate your findings into compelling narratives that drive business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive data-driven problem solving: Apply analytical approaches to solve complex business challenges through data creation, analysis, and statistical modeling. Develop new features by integrating data from internal and external sources.
- Build predictive models: Utilize classification, regression, and clustering techniques to extract meaningful insights from data. Create analytical frameworks to understand potential opportunities, performance drivers, and the impact of external factors.
- Support business intelligence: Apply data mining, quantitative analysis, and visualization techniques to surface key themes and answer business questions across diverse business areas.
- Data extraction and preparation: Secure, organize, cleanse, and manipulate complex, large-scale data from various sources using tools such as PySpark and advanced SQL to interact effectively with data.
- Apply machine learning techniques: Implement supervised or unsupervised learning methods such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, or k-means clustering to derive, validate, and measure conclusions from data.
- Partner with cross-functional teams: Collaborate with business partners to identify opportunities and understand performance, diving into data to drive meaningful and impactful insights.
- Contribute to organizational needs: Support ongoing reporting and analysis to inform business, product, marketing, and sales decisions.
- Lead content and audience analysis: Analyze product release performance and audience engagement. Develop and track key metrics to measure success.
- Perform statistical analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses into KPIs, behavior segmentation, and customer journey analysis. Develop analytical pipelines for automated, scalable, repeatable, and integrated analysis using modern big data frameworks.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams: Work closely with technical teams to execute data projects, including data model design, database structure, ETL/ELT pipelines, and validation criteria.
- Lead and mentor team members: Guide a small team, setting priorities to maximize impact and foster professional growth.
Required Education, Experience & Skills
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of data analysis experience in a professional setting.
- 3+ years of management or team leadership experience.
- Experience developing statistical models and analyses for real-world business applications. Applied knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
- Expertise in handling large, transaction-level datasets and interpreting data trends from multiple disparate sources.
- Strong hands-on experience developing analytical solutions using scripting languages such as Python or R.
- Proficiency in advanced SQL, large-scale data processing, and distributed computing frameworks (PySpark).
- Experience with data mining in distributed systems such as Apache Spark or Databricks.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
- Experience developing analytical software that scales for large datasets.
- Experience working with media performance data and analytics in the entertainment or media industry.
- Strong documentation skills, including defining data requirements, rules, and assumptions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Passion for building clear, concise, and meaningful metrics that drive business decisions.
- Proven track record of using data to deliver measurable business value.
- Experience influencing and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.

- Strong familiarity with music streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music), social media platforms (TikTok, Facebook/Instagram), and emerging technologies such as digital assistants and voice platforms.

- Experience leading data-driven projects across a broad cross-functional landscape.
- Experience building, managing, and motivating teams in strategic support functions.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
