Key Responsibilities
- Instruct classes as assigned, including teaching in classrooms, labs, clinical, and online settings
- Prepare for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student material, preparing lesson plans, and course material as required
- Objectively assess students for academic performance and provide regular and constructive feedback
- Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and set the example for professionalism and conduct
- Proactively inform Program Director of any student attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns for retention management
- Ensure compliance with the published attendance policy, including recording and posting daily attendance
- Facilitate tutoring and makeup work as needed, ensuring and monitoring student participation
- Refer students to the Program Director and/or Academic Dean if additional advising is necessary
Essential Qualifications
- Possess 3 years of experience within the last 7 years as a licensed massage therapist
- Meet the requirements of the state Massage Board
- Strong knowledge of massage therapy principles, techniques, and practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills
- Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans, and to adapt to changing circumstances
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in teaching or mentoring students in a massage therapy program
- Familiarity with instructional technology and learning management systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
