Position Overview
We are currently looking for a full-time Pharmacy Customer Service Associate to work approximately 8 hours per day in our Illinois locations. This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $25, making it an attractive opportunity for those seeking stable employment with growth potential in the healthcare sector.

You will be responsible for registering transactions, assisting customers with their shopping needs, supporting the pharmacy team with various tasks, and ensuring a positive experience for every person who walks through our doors.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of important duties that contribute to the smooth operation of our pharmacy and retail locations. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Customer Service Excellence: Greet customers and patients warmly, offer assistance with products and services, and resolve any issues or questions they may have to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Transaction Processing: Register customer purchases on the assigned sales register, accurately process payments, collect cash, and provide correct change. Handle voids, returns, delays, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
- Sales Support: Recommend items to customers, suggest complementary products, and guide customers to relevant aisles to help them find what they need efficiently.
- Store Maintenance: Keep counters and displays clean, well-organized, and properly promoted. Conduct inventory checks and maintain accurate records as directed by management.
- Pharmacy Support: Assist the pharmacist by using pharmacy systems to enter patient and medication information accurately. Process prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring medication, verifying accuracy, and checking for potential drug interactions.
- Prescription Error Reporting: Immediately report any prescription errors to the on-duty pharmacist and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
- Compliance: Strictly follow company policies regarding ethical dispensing practices and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing pharmacy operations.
- Administrative Duties: Handle phone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention, including calls to physicians. Process manual claims for third-party prescription services efficiently.
- Inventory Management: Assist with pharmacy division inventory management activities, including ordering, unloading, checking, and storing medication shipments. Maintain knowledge of company asset security procedures.
- Product Display: Build and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and corrections as directed.
- Photo Services: Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo services, banner printing, and creative machine operations.
- Online Order Fulfillment: Take on web order responsibilities, including monitoring orders in the system, picking items, and delivering orders to customers as they arrive at the store.
- Store Appearance: Assist with internal and external maintenance to ensure a clean, tidy, and well-presented store environment at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Comply with all company policies and procedures, maintain respectful relationships with colleagues, and complete special projects and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree is preferred for this position, demonstrating a solid educational foundation that supports success in a healthcare-related retail environment.
- Language Skills: Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. (This requirement may differ for positions in Puerto Rico).
- Availability: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours, to meet the needs of our customers and operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of store systems and equipment is essential for efficient job performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Retail Experience: Six months or more of experience in a retail environment is highly desirable and will help you succeed in this role.
- Company Knowledge: Prior work experience with arenaflex or similar organizations is preferred and will provide you with an advantage.
- Mathematical Skills: Strong numerical abilities are preferred to accurately fill prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
- Computer Skills: Good computer skills are preferred for navigating our various systems and software platforms.
- Inventory Control: Knowledge of store inventory control procedures is a plus.
- Certification: PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification is preferred and may be required for advancement opportunities.
