Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Duties:
- Teach classes in various settings, including classrooms, labs, clinical environments, and online platforms.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans and course materials, ensuring alignment with curriculum requirements.
- Assess student performance objectively, providing constructive feedback to facilitate academic growth.
- Utilize and monitor learning management systems effectively.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of assessment tools and student documentation.
- Student Interaction:
- Create a conducive learning environment that promotes engagement and professionalism.
- Serve as a role model for students, exemplifying the values of respect, integrity, and customer service.
- Provide regular feedback to students on their academic performance, attendance, and conduct.
- Identify and address student concerns proactively, referring them to the Program Director or Academic Dean when necessary.
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance.
- Related Duties Outside the Classroom:
- Participate in ongoing faculty development activities, staying current with best practices in instructional methodology and respiratory therapy standards.
- Attend staff meetings, faculty meetings, and other campus events as scheduled.
- Assist with preparations for graduation ceremonies and participate in student and campus activities.
- Maintain classrooms and equipment, ensuring a neat, orderly, and functional learning environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the institution.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- RRT Credential: Registered Respiratory Therapist certification is essential.
- Minimum Four Years of Experience: A minimum of four years of experience in respiratory therapy is required.
- Associate Degree: An associate degree is required; a higher degree is preferred.
- Current State License or Certificate: You must hold a current license or certificate to practice as a respiratory therapist in your state.
- Prior Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience is highly preferred, though not mandatory.
