Job Description Summary
The TF34 Military Field Service Representative will play a critical role in providing on-site technical assistance to military organizations, ensuring the optimal performance of the TF-34 engine installed in A-10 aircraft operated by the Baltimore Air National Guard and other Air National Guard locations. As a liaison between our factory and customers, you will be responsible for driving business and contractual objectives, while supporting the operation, management, repair, installation, and maintenance of our products.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide interpretation of data and technical instructions to customers, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to operate and maintain our products.
- Offer technical assistance in the identification and use of special tools and handling equipment, promoting safe and efficient maintenance practices.
- Develop and recommend local informal training programs to support maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, enhancing customer capabilities and reducing downtime.
- Review reported malfunctions and assist with fault analysis, providing expert guidance and support to resolve maintenance problems and improve overall product performance.
- Collaborate with customers to review effectiveness of maintenance actions, identify training needs, and implement improvements to maintenance practices, driving customer satisfaction and product reliability.
- Assist customers with logistics tasks, including work scope reviews, maintenance scheduling, data recording, and hardware tracking, ensuring seamless operations and minimizing delays.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma analytical tools to assist customers with root cause analysis, issue resolution, and trend analysis, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Demonstrate best methods of disassembling, repairing, and assembling engines and engine components, sharing expertise and knowledge with customers and colleagues.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and factory personnel, facilitating communication and collaboration on maintenance, logistical, and operational tasks, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.
- Provide clear and concise reporting of field events to our Product Support Engineering team, enabling data-driven decision-making and product enhancements.
- Engage proactively in activities aimed at reducing customer cost of ownership, driving business growth, and enhancing product performance, while promoting a customer-centric approach and exceptional service delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a field service / maintenance position as a Military Field Service Representative).
- A minimum of 3 years of field maintenance, modification, and repair experience on propulsion system products, with a strong understanding of technical principles and practices.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required, with a valid passport and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- Ability and willingness to relocate to domestic or international locations to support the needs of the business, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing circumstances.
- Strong customer interaction and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead by example.
- Proven analytical and quality improvement ability, with experience in applying Lean Six Sigma principles and tools to drive process improvements and efficiency gains.
