What you’ll be doing:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute EICL’s financial strategy in alignment with the group’s growth and capital objectives.
- Advise the Board and executive team on financial planning, regulatory compliance, and commercial opportunities.
- Play an active role in strategic decision-making as part of the senior leadership team.
Solvency Capital Treasury Management
- Oversee SCR (Solvency Capital Requirement) management and treasury operations at EICL, working closely with the Group Head of Finance Strategy to ensure efficient capital allocation and liquidity management.
Financial Operations Management Accounting
- Lead all aspects of management accounting, ensuring accurate, timely, and insightful financial information for local and group purposes.
- Oversee and mentor the Financial Accountant in the team.
- Collaborate with the Director of FPA and the Group finance team, who provide primary support for forecasting and reporting, to ensure EICL’s reporting requirements are met.
Audit, Compliance Regulatory Support
- Act as the principal contact for internal and external auditors, ensuring audit processes are well managed and regulatory obligations are met.
- Act as the principal contact for the GFSC.
- Support the annual ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment) process and maintain effective internal controls and compliance frameworks.
Commercial Business Support
- Partner with business leaders to provide financial input to commercial negotiations, pricing, and partnership arrangements.
- Support management with ad hoc financial analysis and scenario planning as required.
- Manage relationships with banks and investment managers.
Systems Transformation Process Automation
- Drive the automation and standardisation of finance processes at EICL by leading the transition to the group ERP system (NetSuite), in close collaboration with the group finance team.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency within the finance function.
What you will need to be successful in the role:
- Proven experience in senior finance leadership within regulated insurance or financial services, with strong strategic and operational capability.
- In-depth knowledge of solvency capital requirements (SCR), treasury operations, and regulatory frameworks including ORSA and GFSC engagement.
- Strong technical expertise in management accounting, forecasting, and group-level financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead audits, ensure compliance, and maintain robust internal controls.
- Commercial acumen with experience supporting business decisions, pricing, partnerships, and financial scenario analysis.
- Effective leadership and team development skills, with a hands-on approach and ability to work in lean environments.
- Experience driving finance systems transformation and process automation, ideally with ERP platforms like NetSuite.
- Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage external relationships (e.g. banks, auditors, investment partners).
- A mindset of continuous improvement, with a focus on scalable and efficient finance operations.
- Recognised financial qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

Note: The primary location for this role would be either in Gibraltar or nearby in Spain. However, occasional travel to the London office may be required.
