Job Description:It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in Gold Coast South and surrounding suburbs.

We are looking for people who:

- Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
- Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
- Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.
In addition, you will need:
- A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
- Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role.
The role
In the role of Home Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with domestic services such as:
- General housekeeping and making beds
- Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
- Washing, folding and ironing laundry
- Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:
- Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
- Assisting clients to take their medications
- Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
- Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
- Providing social and emotional support
- Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
- Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
