Job Description:
• Translate written materials between English and Hopi
• Ensure translations are accurate, complete, culturally appropriate, and research-ready
• Translate documents such as: Informed consent forms, Recruitment and outreach materials, Participant-facing research documents, Study protocols and questionnaires
• Incorporate revisions based on reviewer or subject-matter feedback
• Participate in back-translation or validation steps when requested
• Deliver translations with a signed Certificate or Affidavit of Accuracy
• Maintain strict confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive materials
• Meet agreed-upon turnaround times (typically 1-2 weeks per project)
Requirements:
• Demonstrated fluency and strong literacy in Hopi and English
• Experience translating formal, academic, legal, medical, or research-related content
• Strong understanding of cultural and linguistic nuances within Hopi communities
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines and respond professionally to revision requests
