Job description: General Statement of Duties

The Music & Dance department at Salem State University invites applicants for a full-time temporary position beginning September 2024. We seek a colleague with an expertise in voice/choral conducting as well as the ability to teach courses in music education and other music courses according to the needs of the program. The position may be reappointed for up to two additional years subject to available funding, and with continued growth of the program it is expected there may be additional tenure track lines in the departments.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for choral music activities, teaching, evaluating and reviewing courses in music education, and proposing changes as necessary. Candidates with experience in a diverse range of musical styles are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in recruitment activities, advise students, attend department meetings and participate in departmental committees, tasks and duties. Duties and Responsibilities

Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with the . Duties include teaching, advising, and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The position is subject to available funding.
