About the Role Our client, a pioneering force in synthetic biology and computational genomics, is seeking an exceptional Lead Computational Biologist to join their fully remote research team. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and application of computational methods for analyzing large-scale biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics). Design and implement complex computational models to understand biological processes and predict system behavior. Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and software engineers in a virtual environment to drive research forward. Interpret complex results and provide strategic direction for ongoing and future research projects. Develop and optimize data analysis pipelines for efficiency and scalability. Stay at the forefront of computational biology research, identifying and implementing new methodologies. Communicate findings effectively through presentations and written reports, contributing to publications and patents. Ensure rigorous data management, quality control, and reproducibility of computational analyses. Mentor and guide junior computational biologists within the remote team structure. Requirements Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field with a strong biological focus. A minimum of 6 years of relevant post-doctoral or industry experience, with demonstrated leadership in computational biology. Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, with a strong command of relevant scientific libraries and frameworks. Extensive experience with various omics data types and their integration. Proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning, and advanced computational modeling techniques. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at collaborating remotely. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to research challenges. Experience in synthetic biology or systems biology is highly advantageous.
