Position Overview
Are you ready to take your data analytics career to the next level? arenaflex is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for transforming raw data into meaningful insights that drive strategic business decisions across the organization.
As the Lead Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will serve as a key partner for cross-functional teams, helping them understand platform performance and identify opportunities for growth and improvement. You will lead a team of analysts in developing robust reporting frameworks and data strategies that become the foundation for data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with massive datasets, cutting-edge analytics tools, and stakeholders across the entire organization. You'll be instrumental in driving the use of analytics as a critical value driver, creating a single source of truth for all performance metrics, and ensuring that data informs every major business decision.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Performance Reporting and Visualization: Serve as the primary partner for cross-functional stakeholders to understand platform performance. When metrics deviate from expectations, dive deep to drive meaningful, actionable insights that help improve business performance or double down on successes.
- Reporting and Tooling Strategy: Lead the team in creating meaningful and consistent metrics and reporting across all streaming and digital platforms. Ensure reporting tools and dashboards provide real-time insights that matter most to business stakeholders.
- BI Performance and Technical Leadership: Lead reporting for exceptionally large-scale data operations. Act as a subject matter expert for professionals across the team and collaborate closely with Data Engineering to design and build performant ETLs, intermediate tables, and beautiful, fast Tableau and Looker dashboards.
- Creating a Single Source of Truth: Collaborate with our Governance team to bring together analysts and partners from across the organization to define and normalize the metrics by which we assess product performance and business success.
- ETL and Metric Design: Own measurement design and production by defining business requirements, structuring and optimizing data flows, and ensuring long-term data scalability and reliability.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior analysts, provide technical direction, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the analytics team.
- Cross-Functional Partnership and Communication: Partner closely with business stakeholders to identify and understand what drives their decisions. Work with other data teams to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, testing platforms, data visualization, and data architecture.
- Strategic Initiative Support: Contribute to strategic planning initiatives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations that shape the future direction of the organization.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in developing data analysis and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Chartio, or similar platforms. Strong proficiency in SQL is essential, with some experience in SparkSQL, Hive, or similar big data query languages preferred.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 7 years of analytical experience, ideally specifically in analysis engineering, business intelligence, or a related data-focused role.
- Database Expertise: Significant experience with OLAP databases such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, or equivalent cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
- ETL Development: Experience developing and maintaining optimized tables for reporting through ETL processes, with a focus on performance and scalability.
- Project Management: Project and resource management experience, including outlining objectives and schedules, and coordinating work across multiple sponsors and stakeholders.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, R, or other statistical programming languages for data analysis and modeling purposes.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, along with written and verbal presentation abilities and experience presenting to diverse audiences including executive leadership.
- Drive and Passion: Self-motivation and enthusiasm for delivering outstanding products and making a meaningful impact on the organization's success.

- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the streaming, media, entertainment, or technology sectors is highly valued.

Note: The compensation range for this position is $136,100 to $182,400 annually for locations in Santa Monica, CA, and $142,600 to $191,100 annually for New York, NY. The exact base salary offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
