The Job
The Marketing Data Analyst will transform information requests about our fundraising efforts and donors and turn them into actionable insights. This role will also help optimize data standards and solutions for business intelligence.
Responsibilities will include
- Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
- Support team members in the design, implementation and management of dashboards, analytic tools, and reporting platforms used within direct and digital marketing.
- Conduct ad-hoc campaign and donor analyses for fundraisers to generate actionable insights, visibility into performance and trends.
- Participate in the advancement of marketing data analytics, ensuring an elevated level of rigor and accuracy that enables impactful reports and actionable implementation of data insights.
- Understand both the end-user data needs and WVUS data structures and definitions to ensure the right data is available.
- Work collaboratively with team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (eight years) work experience. Minimum of 5 years of work experience in data analysis for business insights.
- Fluency in using TSQL with complex data structures and a “figure it out” attitude because sometimes you just have to get your hands dirty with the data.
- Competence in Power BI and building reusable semantic models because we are venturing into significant report cleanup and optimization work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that resonate with lay people because you’ll be working with marketers who put tremendous value in words and images.
- Curiosity and humility because there is a lot to learn and understand in this business.
Strongly Preferred Experience:
- Real-world experience in business analytics, preferably in the direct marketing and digital marketing domains.
- Competence with Python to leverage data analysis packages and produce data pipelines and custom functions.
- Competence in GA4 will add further value because we do extensive online marketing and rely heavily on our website for fundraising.
- Familiarity with predictive modeling, leveraging historical data to forecast future outcomes.

WVUS Pay Grade Level: 225
