Outerport is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to oversee technical delivery for enterprise customers in North America and APAC, particularly Japan. The role involves direct customer interaction, bridging sales and engineering functions, and guiding engineering teams to address customer requests.
Responsibilities
- Work directly alongside the CEO to ensure success for customers
- Travel to customer sites to solve deployment problems and more
- Bridge between sales and engineering functions
- Help guide the engineering teams to understand customer requests and features
Skills
- Business level proficiency in English and Japanese
- Excellent communication skills
- Industry experience working directly with customers to own technical deployments (experience as forward deployed engineering, solutions architects, developer technologists, sales engineering, etc)
- Industry experience in management consulting
- Good visual taste / an appreciation for aesthetics
- Ability to build quick feature requests from customers in Python, TypeScript
- Ability to understand issues in cloud deployments (knowledge of computer networking, DevOps, common issues on major cloud platforms)
- Academic background in computer science or engineering
- Proficiency in other languages (e.g. Mandarin)
