About Amazon's Finance Controllership
Our Finance Controllership group plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of Amazon's operations. We are committed to ensuring that our processes are efficient, effective, and compliant with regulatory requirements. As a Monetary Investigator, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with finance partners to identify and mitigate risks, and implementing best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Special Projects: Drive finance upgrades and combinations across multiple groups, ensuring seamless integration and process improvements.
- Risk Assessments and Process Analysis: Perform risk assessments and process analyses to proactively identify potential risks and suggest mitigation activities.
- Process Design and Control Effectiveness: Develop, modify, and maintain the operational and design effectiveness of finance processes and controls.
- SOX 302 Quarterly Confirmations: Participate in the SOX 302 quarterly confirmations process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Controllership Advisory: Provide advisory services on Controllership-related matters to Finance partners.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Coordinate with teams across IT, HR, Finance, and Accounting to ensure that best practices are followed and executed.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Capabilities
- Bachelor's Degree: BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Relevant Experience: 4+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience, including project management experience.
- Internal Controls: Experience in internal controls design or implementation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to handle multiple competing needs.
- Big 4 or Equivalent: Experience working with a Big 4 or equivalent audit firm/business controls.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other formulas.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, including persuasive written and oral communication skills.
- Team Orientation: Team-centered with the ability to work across global teams.
Preferred Capabilities
- Finance and Payroll Experience: Experience with processing finance and approving finance input through yield.
- Controllership Background: Controllership foundation and earlier internal audit experience would be a benefit.
