HOURS
Full time 10-month position (190 contract days).
Contract Unit: This position is part of the Unit I (Certificated) bargaining unit.
FLSA: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Innovation, Accelerated Learning and Virtual Learning and building principal

Qualifications
Eligibility for the Maryland State Department of Education teaching certificate with the proper endorsement. IMPORTANT NOTE for Out-of-State Applicants: Out-of-state applicants can request a Professional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) if they hold a valid out-of-state certificate. Knowledge of subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using the English language when deemed necessary.

Exemplary organizational and planning skills.

Ability to work effectively with central office supervisors, school-based administrators, teachers, other staff members, students, and parents.

Excellent planning, organizational, management, human relations skills, and oral and written communication skills.

Essential Instruction Functions for Online Learning
Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.

Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.

Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction.

Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.

Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.

Establish, maintain, and monitor timelines related to online learning.

Accurately maintain grades for online courses
Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies and establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.

Perform other related tasks as assigned by the principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Essential Instruction Functions for Family Service Coordinator
Cooperatively work with school counselors to collect data and implement 504s for students.

Cooperatively work with special education teachers to identify and connect students to our after-school online learning classes and supports.

Cooperatively work with English language learner teacher to identify and connect student to our after-school online learning classes and supports.

Cooperatively work with our after-school program coordinators to connect students with the opportunities for food, transportation, credit recovery or first-time credit classes.

Collaboratively work with parents to find solutions to help students be college and career ready.

Other duties as assigned.
