What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Associate in our Tool Rental department, you'll be the face of arenaflex for many customers, helping them find the right equipment and solutions for their home improvement needs. Your daily activities will be diverse and engaging, combining customer interaction with hands-on tasks that keep our department running smoothly. Here's what you can expect:
- Warm Welcome & Assistance: Greet every customer with a genuine smile and provide friendly, professional assistance throughout their shopping experience. Answer questions, offer product recommendations, and ensure each visitor feels valued and supported.
- Product Knowledge Expert: Develop in-depth knowledge of our tool rental inventory, including power tools, construction equipment, gardening machinery, and specialty items. Help customers understand which tools best suit their specific projects and explain rental terms and pricing.
- Transaction Processing: Accurately process rental agreements, reservations, and returns using our point-of-sale systems. Ensure all documentation is completed correctly and that customers understand their responsibilities regarding the rented equipment.
- Equipment Management: Inspect, maintain, and prepare rental equipment for customer use. This includes cleaning tools, checking functionality, performing basic maintenance, and ensuring all equipment meets safety standards before each rental.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels in the Tool Rental department, down-stock merchandise when needed, and communicate with management about inventory needs. Help maintain organized displays and ensure products are properly categorized and accessible.
- Merchandise Preparation: Assist with preparing merchandise for customer needs, which may include cutting materials to size, mixing paint colors, threading pipes, or bundling wood products as requested.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following basic requirements:
- Technical Proficiency: At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including the ability to input, access, modify, and output information effectively. Comfort with technology is essential for processing transactions and managing rental documentation.
- Retail Technology Skills: Six months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones, tablets, and point-of-sale systems. Familiarity with inventory management and customer relationship systems is a plus.
- Basic Math & Communication: Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction) accurately. Strong verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Physical Capability: Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, walking, and other physical activities necessary to perform job duties. Must be able to minimally lift 25 pounds unassisted or lift over 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Availability: Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on store needs. Part-time availability with open scheduling is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications

- Retail Experience: Six months or more of retail and/or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment. Prior exposure to home improvement retail is especially valuable.

Working Conditions
