ScionHealth is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Patient Account Representative to join our Revenue Cycle team in a remote capacity, supporting two of our facilities. Our Revenue Cycle team is responsible for managing the financial aspects of patient care, from registration to reimbursement. As a Patient Account Representative, you will be an integral part of this team, working closely with internal and external customers to resolve billing and insurance-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound and outbound phone calls from hospital and physician group customers, providing timely and effective resolution to their queries.
- Maintain required levels of productivity and quality while managing tasks to ensure timely resolution of analytic reports.
- Utilize various resources, including payor websites, provider service lines, analytics, and correspondence, to accomplish analytic report follow-up.
- Participate in A/R clean-up projects and other initiatives identified by leadership.
- Take ownership of assignments and demonstrate a proactive approach to resolving issues and improving processes.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, listening attentively to their concerns and providing clear, concise responses.
- Collaborate with supervisors, peers, and other departments to ensure seamless delivery of customer service.
- Provide training to new or existing staff as directed by leadership, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance team performance.
- Identify opportunities to reduce call volumes and wait times, improving customer satisfaction and overall experience.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and initiative amongst peers and coworkers, contributing to a positive and productive team culture.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (required)
- 1-2 years of previous customer service experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with one or more of the following systems or applications: Epic, SSI, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- General accounting and bookkeeping skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of medical billing and medical terminology (preferred)
