Position Overview
As a Pharmacist Centralized Services team member at arenaflex, you will be responsible for executing medical service methodologies and driving patient wellbeing results. You will implement patient intervention pharmacy programs, ensure compliance of clinical pharmacy services, and execute against established partner pharmacy programs. This role is essential in driving pharmacy financial performance by implementing pharmacy programs that maximize reimbursements while simultaneously improving patient health outcomes.
You will be responsible for prescription processing from a remote setting, cultivating strong relationships with clinical communities in your assigned area, and serving as a representative and contact of the organization. Your expertise will be invaluable as you serve as an informed resource and asset to pharmacy specialists and field leaders throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care Programs: Implement direct patient care programs, including but not limited to Drug Therapy Management programs, Vaccination Services, and Payer and Pharma Adherence and Clinical Projects. You will play a vital role in ensuring these programs reach patients effectively and deliver measurable health improvements.
- Policy Execution and Business Alignment: Drive the execution of various policies and operations to ensure business needs are being met. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement initiatives that align with organizational goals and enhance operational efficiency.
- Compliance and Quality Improvement: Lead compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care and services by researching, evaluating, and redesigning processes; monitoring and analyzing results; and implementing necessary changes. Ensure that all assigned pharmacies comply with regulatory compliance, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines.
- Financial Performance: Drive local pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies with company financial goals. Implement and execute patient intervention pharmacy programs designed to maximize financial performance while maintaining exceptional patient care standards.
- Patient Experience Enhancement: Support efforts to improve patient experience by increasing focus on healthcare services, including patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and retail, clinical, or wellness services such as vaccinations, illness state management, and Specialty programs.
- Team Support and Development: Provide expertise, resources, education, and support to pharmacists and field leadership. Support staff training experiences and create advancement opportunities. Promote collaboration and inspire pharmacy staff by fostering a shared vision and supporting organization policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Clinical Review and Accuracy: Conduct data and clinical reviews and take necessary action to ensure accuracy and propriety of medications. Review drug histories and patient profiles to ensure appropriate and safe medication therapy. Provide individualized patient and provider consultations.
- Patient Communication: Through exceptional interpersonal skills, earn the trust of patients by listening to their concerns and providing a sounding board for pharmacy issues. Demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism in every patient interaction.
- Client Retention Program Feedback: Provide feedback regarding the effectiveness of the Client Retention Program, including comments from patients as the value of individual consultations. Use patient feedback to continuously improve service delivery.
- Clinical Advisory Role: Be accountable for all inquiries, discussions, and advice that relate directly to patient treatment. Provide clinical advice and knowledge to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations. Maintain current knowledge of Pharmacy industry developments and maintain required licensure throughout employment.
- Additional Duties: Perform other work consistent with the job duties as assigned by management. Follow all guidelines and procedures for all job responsibilities to meet objectives. Comply with company policies and procedures, including all HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
Essential Qualifications
- Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority. You must maintain active licensure throughout your employment with arenaflex.
- Experience inspiring colleagues to research and resolve issues effectively.
- Experience working with confidential and sensitive information, demonstrating exceptional judgment and integrity.
- Ability to work non-standard hours, which may include nights, holidays, and/or weekends as required by business needs.
- Experience using time management skills, such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details, while meeting deadlines of various projects with varying completion dates.
- Experience developing approaches to achieving goals with minimal supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives, and knowing when to escalate issues appropriately.
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes, both within state and out of state.
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness to acquire additional state pharmacy licenses if required, demonstrating flexibility to support operations across multiple regions.
- Knowledge of insurance plans and billing procedures, understanding the complexity of various payer structures.
- Knowledge of computer operating systems, including Radio, Commitment, and Plus platforms.
- Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including opening workbooks, inserting rows, selecting fonts and sizes, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, adjusting text, selecting cells, renaming worksheets, inserting columns, selecting chart styles, inserting worksheets, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check, and/or printing worksheets.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including embedding, editing, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, expanding list levels, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting tables or notes, moving objects, printing frame view, and/or running slide shows.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, including opening documents, cutting, pasting and adjusting text, selecting font types and sizes, changing margins and paragraph width, formatting, inserting shots, images and dates, using find and replace, repair, spell check, track changes, review sheets, and/or print capabilities.
