Position Overview
As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in creating a seamless and positive experience for every customer who interacts with our pharmacy and retail services. You will be responsible for registering transactions on our sales registers, providing courteous and efficient checkout services, and assisting customers with finding the products they need. Additionally, you will support our pharmacy team by helping with prescription processing, maintaining patient and medication records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
As a valued member of the arenaflex team, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties that contribute to the overall success of our pharmacy and retail operations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Customer Service Excellence: Greet customers warmly and offer assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions promptly to ensure a positive shopping experience. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal habits, including friendly greetings, eye contact, and courteous behavior, while embodying arenaflex service values such as proactively offering help, acknowledging needs, and following through until satisfaction is achieved.
- Sales Register Operations: Register customer purchases on assigned sales registers, accurately collect payments, and disseminate change as requested. Process voids, returns, delays, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Guide customers to relevant store aisles when possible to assist them in locating products.
- Pharmacy Support: Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and medication information and process prescriptions accurately. Enter patient and medication data into the system, ensuring all information is input correctly.
- Prescription Processing: Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical medications. Verify that medications are correct and check for potential drug interactions. Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow efficiency.
- Error Reporting and Compliance: Report prescription errors to the on-duty pharmacist immediately. Adhere to arenaflex policies and procedures related to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Review and follow the arenaflex Pharmacy Governing Guidelines. Strictly adhere to the Good Faith Dispensing policy during all prescription dispensing activities.
- Administrative Duties: Handle phone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including calls to physicians. Process (edit and resubmit) manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner. Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
- Inventory Management: Assist and support the Pharmacy Division with inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing medication shipments. Maintain knowledge of organization asset security procedures and report claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
- Store Maintenance: Ensure compliance with state and local regulations regarding controlled substances such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. Build and maintain displays including promotional, seasonal, super fixture, and sale stock. Complete resets and revisions as directed.
- Product Presentation: Assist with the division of food items and product positioning as determined by policies and procedures. For consumable items, assist with inventory rotation using the first-in, first-out method and restock outs. Keep counters and displays clean, well-promoted, and properly stocked. Perform inventory checks and pricing as required.
- Additional Support: Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, banner print and creative machine, and special order photo products. Handle online order duties by monitoring orders in the system, fulfilling pick-up requests, and delivering orders to customers as they arrive. Assist with external and internal maintenance by ensuring a clean, tidy, and well-organized store condition and appearance.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:
- Education: Possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Language Skills: Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. (This requirement may differ in Puerto Rico).
- Availability: Demonstrate willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Strong mathematical skills for accurately counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems and store equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications and experiences will be considered a strong advantage:
- Six months or more of experience in a retail environment.
- Previous work experience with arenaflex or similar pharmacy retailers.
- Strong knowledge of store inventory control procedures.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification or willingness to obtain certification through arenaflex's designated training program.
- Additional state-required certification or registration for pharmacy technician roles.
