As a remote Pharmacy Technician with arenaflex, you will play a critical role in our prescription processing operations, supporting multiple client programs and ensuring that patients receive the medications they need in a timely and accurate manner. Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor and Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Technician provides exemplary service to multiple stakeholders including product manufacturers, physicians, patients, and internal customers. You will contribute to the continued success and growth of arenaflex by ensuring personal productivity and efficient use of resources while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism in all pharmacy data entry operations.
This role is ideal for a pharmacy professional who enjoys variety in their work, excels at multitasking, and takes pride in supporting the healthcare ecosystem behind the scenes. You will be working closely with our team of pharmacists and reimbursement specialists to ensure seamless prescription processing and excellent patient support.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician (Data Entry) at arenaflex, you will be responsible for the following core functions:
- Prescription Intake and Processing: Manage the intake of all prescriptions across multiple prescription brands and programs specific to non-dispensing pharmacy operations. Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our pharmacy management systems.
- System Maintenance: Maintain effective systems and processes to support the timely release of accurate information to diverse clients, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, healthcare providers, and patients.
- Prescription Triage: Log all prescription information into the appropriate pharmacy database and triage prescriptions to the appropriate dispensing pharmacy based on program requirements and patient needs.
- Pharmacist Support: Provide comprehensive support to our team of pharmacists related to prescription processing, including data verification, documentation, and follow-up activities as needed.
- Call Volume Management: Assist with inbound call volume as received, providing excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and other stakeholders. This may include answering questions, resolving issues, and directing calls to appropriate team members.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Pharmacists, Reimbursement Specialists, and other Pharmacy Technicians to ensure coordinated patient care and efficient workflow across all programs.
- Insurance Verification: Run eligibility checks and test claims as needed for patient prescriptions as required by specific programs. Ensure all insurance information is accurately captured and verified.
- Prescription Distribution: Distribute prescriptions to appropriate Reimbursement Specialists and stakeholders, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up procedures are followed.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain and promote a positive and professional working relationship with all associates and management. Comply with all appropriate program policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Problem Resolution: Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercise judgment within defined standard operating procedures to determine appropriate action.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives and share best practices with team members. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience and Education
- Previous 3+ years of professional work experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Experience in a hub services, specialty pharmacy, or call center environment is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with prescription intake, insurance verification, and pharmacy data entry is highly desirable.
Licensing and Certification
- Active Pharmacy Technician license (National certification preferred, PTCB or ExCPT)
- Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Texas is required. If not currently licensed in Texas, you must have the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe after hire.
- Must maintain all required licenses and certifications in good standing throughout employment.

- Technical Proficiency: Strong computer application skills, including proficiency in pharmacy management software, Microsoft Office applications, and data entry systems. Ability to quickly learn new software and technology platforms.

- Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Solid understanding of pharmacy regulations for prescription processing, including knowledge of controlled substance handling, HIPAA compliance, and pharmacy billing procedures.
