Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Teichos Energy is seeking an Advanced Bookkeeping/Jr. Accounting Specialist to join their growing finance team. This role involves supporting the company's accounting operations, payroll, and corporate compliance activities while ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and prepare related accounting entries
- Process vendor payments through ACH, wire transfers, online banking platforms, checks, and company credit cards in accordance with Company authorization procedures
- Process and reconcile company credit card transactions
- Prepare monthly bank, checking account, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Record accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, and other recurring accounting entries
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready accounting records and supporting documentation
- Manage full-cycle payroll processing utilizing Intuit QuickBooks Payroll
- Process employee onboarding, payroll changes, deductions, benefits, PTO, reimbursements, and payroll adjustments
- Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts
- Coordinate quarterly and year-end payroll reporting
- Maintain accounting records for multiple affiliated legal entities and project companies
- Support project cost accounting and entity-specific accounting
- Record accrued contract liabilities and assist in applying vendor invoices against previously recorded liabilities
- Assist with intercompany accounting and construction financing activities
- Prepare Washington B&O tax filings
- Prepare information necessary for multi-state tax filings and coordinate with the Company’s outside accounting firm to complete required federal, state, and local tax filings
- Prepare documentation supporting annual reports, foreign registrations, business license renewals, and other corporate compliance activities
- Coordinate with outside CPA firms, registered agents, insurance brokers, and legal counsel to ensure compliance requirements are completed accurately and timely
- Prepare accounting schedules supporting monthly financial statements
- Assist with lender reporting, project financing, construction loan draws, and financial due diligence
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation requested by lenders, auditors, investors, and outside accountants
- Support financial statement reviews, audits, and special accounting projects
- Establish and maintain vendor records, including W-9s and other required documentation
- Coordinate with vendors regarding invoices, payment status, and account maintenance
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, documentation, workflow efficiency, and internal controls
- Collaborate with the CFO and Finance & Administrative team to continuously improve accounting processes and support the Company’s continued growth
Skills
- 7–10+ years of progressively responsible advanced bookkeeping and accounting experience
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop (required)
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Intuit QuickBooks Payroll, including full-cycle payroll processing, employee onboarding, pay changes, deductions, benefits administration, PTO administration, reimbursements, payroll journal entries, payroll reconciliations, and quarterly and year-end payroll reporting
- Strong experience with multi-entity accounting, including QuickBooks Classes, entity-specific accounting, and intercompany transactions
- Experience preparing journal entries and performing accurate bank, checking account, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Solid understanding of accrual accounting and working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, pivot tables, filtering, sorting, and preparation of financial schedules
- Experience coordinating with outside CPA firms during financial statement reviews, tax return preparation, annual compliance activities, and special accounting projects
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to independently prioritize workload, manage multiple deadlines, and exercise sound judgment regarding matters requiring CFO review or approval
- Must reside on the U.S. West Coast or Hawaii to support collaboration during Pacific Time business hours

- Experience in renewable energy, engineering, construction, real estate development, infrastructure, or other project-based industries
- Experience supporting a CFO with lender reporting, project financing, construction loan draws, financial due diligence, audits, and board reporting
- Experience with project accounting, contract accounting, committed cost tracking, accrued project liabilities, and construction financing
- Experience with Washington B&O tax filings and familiarity with multi-state tax compliance requirements
- Experience coordinating corporate compliance activities, including annual reports, foreign registrations, business licenses, and state filings while working with outside CPA firms, registered agents, and legal counsel
