The Business Consulting - Life Sciences - Manager role involves leading large client engagements, developing commercial strategies, and providing advisory services within the life sciences sector.
Responsibilities
- Most of your time will be spent supporting client engagement teams and working with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services in the life sciences domain
- Strong prior experience in Life Science commercial strategy with a focus on operational models. Additional experience in market access and commercial analytics will be a plus
- Prior experience working in Strategy focused boutique life sciences or internal strategy roles with top biopharma clients (e.g., Merck, Pfizer, BMS)
- Experience managing a team of at least 5 reports in a dynamics fast paced setting
- Effectively manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds
- Leading large-scale client engagements and consistently delivering quality client services
- Monitoring progress, managing risk and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
- Managing expectations of client service delivery and staying abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business
- Fostering an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment by playing an active role in counselling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization
- Developing and maintaining long-term client relationships and networks
- Developing relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs
- Remaining current on new developments in the life sciences advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Biology, Pharmacology
- 6+ years biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience and experience providing advisory services in these industries, focused in at least one of the following areas: Commercial analytics, Brand strategy, Pricing and market access, Commercial operations model transformation, Digital campaign management strategy
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical datasets (e.g. pricing databases, prescription and claims databases, etc.)
- Experience with commercial operations and analytics
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- The executive presence to interact with the C-Suite
- A willingness to travel to meet client needs
- Significant advisory/consulting experience is within life sciences is required

- PhD in life sciences or bio-focused engineering discipline
