Position Overview
We are currently looking for a Remote Data Entry Specialist to perform information entry and patient enrollment duties in accordance with state and government guidelines. This role is responsible for resolving third-party issues and handling high-volume customer requests while working under direct supervision. The ideal candidate will maintain standard operating procedures and perform duties in accordance with company policies and methodologies.
This position involves using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and medication information. Responsibilities may vary based on the assigned division, providing variety and opportunities to develop a broad skill set. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation ranging from $27 to $35 per hour, with the convenience of working from home.
Key Responsibilities
As a Remote Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties that support our pharmacy operations and ensure excellent customer service. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Patient Enrollment & Data Entry: Utilizing arenaflex prescription data entry techniques and guidelines, process new patient enrollments by accurately entering data into the appropriate system. Ensure all information is entered correctly and in a timely manner to facilitate seamless patient care.
- Prescription Processing: Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing. Accurately interpret medical abbreviations (SIG codes) and investigate to obtain missing prescription information when necessary.
- Exception Resolution: Resolve all data entry-related exceptions with precision and attention to detail. Identify discrepancies and take appropriate corrective action to ensure data integrity.
- Customer Communication: Handle correspondence with patients through inbound calls, chats, and emails. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to resolve issues, provide updates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Third-Party Issue Resolution: Resolve third-party issues by examining, collecting information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual policy requirements. Make phone calls to insurers and other parties to obtain information, gain override approval, or otherwise resolve third-party issues.
- Pharmacist Support: Provide assistance to Pharmacists, both those in the office and those in other locations. Identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate to ensure seamless operations.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with HIPAA regulations and state guidelines.
- License & Certification: Must obtain an active professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain an active license or certification throughout employment.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Computer Skills: Basic level computer skills including the ability to start up and shut down a computer, use the mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save documents, print reports, and access information online.
- Web Navigation: Basic web browser skills including opening a browser, typing URLs in the correct location, using a search engine, bookmarking websites, navigating back/forward/stop buttons, and filling out forms online.
- Keyboard Skills: Intermediate-level keyboarding skills with a minimum of 25 WPM (words per minute), typing by memory, and organizing documents.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications and experience will be considered a strong advantage:
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
- At least one and a half years of experience as a pharmacy technician with certification/registration by the state as granted by the state Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization.
- Experience providing customer care to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills with a minimum of 35 WPM, typing by memory, and formatting documents.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (verbal and written).
- Previous experience working with electronic health records (EHR) or pharmacy management systems.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and claims processing procedures.
