Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Redwood Materials is localizing a global battery supply chain that integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for building and evolving custom systems that support warehouse management, procurement workflows, and ERP integration for a large-scale manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy, and operate in production
- Write clean, tested Python and React code and participate in code reviews
- Design and build APIs and integrations between systems
- Work with domain experts and stakeholders to understand business processes and turn them into working software
- Contribute to technical design decisions
- Navigate a fast-moving environment where requirements change often and ambiguity is normal prioritize effectively and adapt without waiting for perfect information
- Debug and resolve production issues; monitor and improve system reliability
- Collaborate remotely with team and stakeholders; periodic on-site travel (~1 week/quarter) for planning and stakeholder engagement
Skills
- 5+ years software engineering experience
- Strong Python skills; production React experience
- Experience building and shipping production applications on AWS
- API design and integration patterns
- Comfort working independently in a remote-first environment and making pragmatic technical decisions
- Strong written communication: you document decisions and communicate async effectively
- Availability for periodic travel to Nevada (~1 week/quarter)
- Direct experience with ERP systems, WMS, supply chain software, or procurement platforms
- Manufacturing, logistics, or recycling industry experience
- Event-driven architecture or workflow orchestration
- Enthusiasm for AI-assisted development
- Scrappy mindset: you've built under tight timelines and ambiguity
- Remote work experience on distributed engineering teams
