As part of our continued growth, we are launching Sovereign Tax Services LLC—an integrated tax preparation and advisory platform designed to complement our core wealth management offering and deliver a true “under-one-roof” client experience. Role Overview We are seeking a highly capable, entrepreneurial Tax Manager (CPA or EA) to build and lead our tax division from the ground up. This is not a traditional tax role. This is an opportunity to design, implement, and operate a modern tax practice within a fast-growing wealth management firm. The right candidate will combine technical tax expertise with operational leadership and a client-first mindset. Key Responsibilities Build & Launch the Tax Division • Lead the setup of Sovereign Tax Services LLC, including workflows, processes, and technology stack (e.g., TaxDome and related tools) • No sales required… we will have clients waiting for you. • Establish scalable systems for client onboarding, document management, and tax return delivery • Develop best practices for a modern, efficient, and client-friendly tax operation Tax Preparation & Review • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, trusts, and small businesses • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with all applicable tax laws Tax Planning & Advisory • Deliver proactive, strategic tax planning for high-net-worth clients • Identify planning opportunities across income, investments, retirement, and estate strategies Advisor Collaboration • Partner closely with Sovereign’s financial advisors to integrate tax strategy into financial planning • Help elevate the firm’s overall value proposition through coordinated advice Client Experience • Serve as a trusted point of contact for tax-related client needs • Maintain a high-touch, responsive service model consistent with a premium advisory firm Qualifications • CPA or Enrolled Agent (required) • 5+ years of experience in tax preparation and review • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and/or closely held businesses • Strong understanding of tax planning strategies (not just compliance) • CFP® designation is a plus, but not required What We’re Looking For • Builder mentality – you’re excited to create something from scratch, not just step into a pre-built role • Operational thinker – you can design systems, not just execute tasks • Client-first mindset – you understand the importance of service in a wealth management environment • Self-starter – thrives in a remote, high-accountability environment Why This Role is Unique • Opportunity to own and shape an entire division • Direct integration with a fast-growing RIA platform • Ability to influence firm-wide strategy and client experience • Clear pathway to equity partnership Job Type: Full-time Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year (PLUS Bonus and Profit Share) Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Employee stock ownership plan • Employee stock purchase plan • Health insurance • Opportunities for partnership • Paid sick time • Profit sharing • Retirement plan • Stock options • Vision insurance • Work from home
