Key Responsibilities
- Conduct tax interviews with clients and support DIY online tax clients through virtual tools, including video conferencing, phone, chat, and email.
- Drive business growth by identifying opportunities to offer additional products and services to clients, enhancing their overall experience and fostering long-term relationships.
- Collaborate with leaders and peers to ensure seamless delivery of tax services, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive team success.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest tax laws and regulations, continually developing your tax expertise to deliver expert guidance to clients.
- Provide exceptional client service, communicating complex tax situations concisely and effectively via phone, email, and chat.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed as a Remote Tax Professional at H&R Block, you'll need:
- Experience completing individual tax returns, with a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple client relationships simultaneously.
- Access to high-speed, reliable internet and proficiency in technology, specifically MS Teams and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and interpret complex tax information.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent, demonstrating your tax expertise.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with a higher education qualification preferred.
- The ability to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week during peak tax season, with flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications can enhance your application:
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification, demonstrating advanced tax expertise.
- Experience completing complex tax returns, with a deep understanding of tax planning and audit support.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional client service.
- Experience conducting virtual tax interviews, with the ability to create confidence and trust with clients remotely.
- Sales and/or marketing experience, with a strong understanding of how to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
