Key Responsibilities
As our Senior Reliability Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for driving requirements and execution of products, processes, and packaging capabilities. You will oversee reliability stress test conditions and protocols from the setup stage all the way to volume production readiness. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead Requirements Definition: Define and drive reliability requirements and performance standards for silicon products, ensuring alignment with overall product objectives and customer expectations.
- Reliability Test Development: Design and implement comprehensive reliability test plans, including stress testing conditions, failure analysis protocols, and quality assurance methodologies.
- Plan for Reliability & Test: Drive and review the Plan for Reliability (PFR) and Plan for Test (PFT) to ensure stress margin and testability are optimized for all product configurations.
- Corner Analysis Leadership: Lead all aspects of corner analysis including material characterization, Die attach/Connection, waveform analysis, electrical bias, thermal effects, and lifetime assessment methodologies.
- Process Implementation: Execute Production Release (POR) of process flows, artwork standards, and drive product performance optimization across all manufacturing stages.
- First Article Inspection (FAI): Perform FAI to ensure fundamental targets are assessed before planning, pre-production, and production release for Product Release.
- Failure Analysis: Drive investigation and resolution of reliability after-effects and product/process nonconformance including MRB, RMA events through methodology of FA, 5 Why, 8D, and comprehensive reporting.
- Change Management: Support PCN (Product Change Notification) or ECN (Engineering Change Notification) exercises with thorough documentation and impact assessment.
- Supplier Audits: Lead supplier audits as required, ensuring compliance with arenaflex quality standards and industry best practices.
- Yield Analysis: Study and perform yield assessment and correlation analysis for all levels of testing including Pareto building, statistical insights, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supplier Development: Drive and guide suppliers for continuous improvement, implementing corrective actions and quality enhancement programs as necessary.
Essential Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with a strong technical foundation and proven industry experience. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor reliability engineering, quality engineering, or product engineering roles.
- Technical Expertise: Semiconductor design contribution with Reliability or Quality/Product Planning experience from global organizations.
- Standards Knowledge: Experience in JEDEC reliability and quality-related standards, ISO quality management systems, and a solid understanding of the science behind reliability engineering.
- Silicon Reliability: Understanding of silicon product-level reliability capability and lifetime prediction modeling.
- Failure Analysis: Knowledge of failure analysis techniques for silicon/packaging technologies and failure mechanisms concerning product quality.
- Hardware Testing: Related knowledge describing hardware configurations and environmental testing including temperature cycling, humidity, ESD,Latch-up, and various other reliability tests.
- Supplier Quality: Experience in supplier quality assessment of components, materials, and processes.
- Manufacturing Experience: Demonstrated experience driving suppliers in silicon Fab process/packaging/assembly, testing, production reliability monitoring, and post-production quality.
- Process Management: Familiar with process flows, specifications, and managing supplier performance including process Cpk, yield analysis, capacity reporting, and other key metrics.
- Travel Availability: Willingness to travel as required for supplier visits, audits, and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
While the essential qualifications listed above are mandatory, the following additional experiences and skills will significantly enhance your candidacy:
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline
- Experience with cutting-edge process technologies (7nm, 5nm, 3nm, or future nodes)
- Knowledge of advanced packaging technologies (2.5D, 3D stacking, chiplets)
- Familiarity with AI/ML approaches for reliability prediction and yield optimization
- Experience in automotive or aerospace-grade reliability requirements (AEC-Q100, MIL-STD)
- Strong background in statistical analysis and data science methodologies
- Experience working with foundries and OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) partners
- Knowledge of emerging reliability challenges in advanced memory technologies (HBM, LPDDR, NAND, NOR)
- Six Sigma Black Belt or similar quality certification
