Job Summary
As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist at DHL Supply Chain, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and fulfillment services. You'll be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying contents, preparing shipping documents, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities
- Shipping Operations:
- Prepare shipments for outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy in product selection and packaging.
- Generate shipping labels and arrange transportation for deliveries.
- Maintain records of outgoing shipments and track shipment status as required.
- Receiving Operations:
- Receive incoming shipments, unload trucks, and inspect contents for accuracy and condition.
- Verify received products against packing slips or purchase orders.
- Label and store received goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in conducting regular physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Update inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) accurately.
- Quality Control and Safety:
- Ensure all shipped and received products meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to supervisors promptly.
- Documentation and Communication:
- Maintain shipping and receiving logs, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external carriers regarding shipment statuses and requirements.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or related fields is a plus.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), such as Red Prairie, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, or SAP.
- The ability to operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts (certification preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced logistics or warehouse environment.
- Certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
