Our client, a progressive agricultural enterprise committed to sustainable farming practices, is seeking a highly skilled Agronomist Specialist with expertise in Precision Agriculture to join their team. This role offers a unique blend of field operations and data analysis, contributing to the optimization of crop yields and resource management. The position requires a candidate who can work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote work for data analysis and reporting with on-site presence for field assessments and client consultations.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement precision agriculture strategies for various crops, utilizing data from sensors, drones, and satellite imagery. Analyze soil, weather, and crop health data to provide actionable recommendations to farmers and farm managers. Calibrate and maintain precision agriculture equipment, including GPS guidance systems, variable rate applicators, and soil sampling tools. Conduct field scouting and crop inspections to monitor pest, disease, and nutrient deficiencies. Educate clients on the benefits and application of precision farming technologies. Manage and interpret data from farm management software and GIS platforms. Assist in the development of customized fertilization and irrigation plans. Stay current with advancements in agricultural technology and research findings. Prepare detailed reports on crop performance, resource utilization, and recommendations for improvement. Collaborate with research and development teams on pilot programs and new technology evaluations. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for precision agriculture systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in agronomy or a related agricultural science role, with a strong focus on precision agriculture. Proficiency with precision agriculture hardware and software, including GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), farm management software, and data analysis tools. Experience with drone operation and aerial data interpretation. Knowledge of soil science, plant physiology, and pest/disease management. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in both field and office settings. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various farm locations. Familiarity with remote sensing technologies and data analytics. Understanding of sustainable and organic farming practices is a plus. This hybrid role is based in the vibrant agricultural community near San Antonio, Texas . Candidates should be prepared for regular travel to client sites within the region.
