About the Role: Financial Analyst – Planning & Analysis (Canada Market)
We're currently seeking a talented and motivated Financial Analyst to join our Global Merchant & Network Services (GM&NS) Estimating team. This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of arenaflex's most significant revenue stream: Merchant Discount Income. Our team works closely with colleagues across the organization to determine optimal pricing that enables merchant recognition of arenaflex while striving to improve coverage and merchant satisfaction.
In this role, you will be responsible for the determination and reporting of merchant discount revenue for the Canada region. This position offers a exceptional chance to influence multiple businesses and segments by aligning the organization's objectives for profitable fee volume and merchant growth—elements critical to the strength of our business.
Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Analyst on our GM&NS Estimating team, you will:
- Develop Canada Forecasts: Create comprehensive Canada forecasts for merchant discount income and track monthly performance against projections, identifying key drivers of change and variance analysis.
- Performance Scorecards: Develop and maintain merchant discount revenue scorecards for the Canada region, providing actionable insights to stakeholders and leadership.
- Process Standardization: Drive standardization and process improvement among various regional pricing teams for all reporting and forecasting-related activities, ensuring consistency and efficiency across operations.
- External Audit Support: Support external audits by investigating issues found, reaching out to regional pricing teams that manage merchant relationships to discuss findings, and driving successful resolutions.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Perform spontaneous data analysis to evaluate discount rate trends and uncover valuable insights that inform strategic decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between pricing strategies, merchant growth objectives, and revenue goals.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Educational Background: A bachelor's degree is required; a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Business is strongly preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other finance-related roles are desired.
- Technical Proficiency: High proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. You should be comfortable building complex financial models and analyzing large datasets.
- Programming Skills: Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required for data extraction and analysis.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong attention to detail and organization, with demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from substantial financial data.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills—both written and oral—with the ability to present financial findings clearly to diverse audiences.
