<p>OverviewOur client is recruiting for an experienced Assistant Herdsperson to join the team on one of their dairy units</p><p>North Shropshire 700 cows</p><p>LocationThe farm is located in a stunning part of North Shropshire being close to Oswestry.</p><p>The Farm</p><p>The farm comprises of around 700 cows on a housed system.</p><p>70 point rotary parlour with excellent cubicles and cow facilities.</p><p>Farming in excess of 2000 acres</p><p>Modern machinery</p><p>First class staff facilities on site with locker room, kitchen, board room etc</p><p>The Herd</p><p>700 Jerseys. Milked twice a day averaging around 7500 litres.</p><p>All year around calving</p><p>Replacements reared on site.</p><p>Milk sold to Arla.</p><p>Regular foot trimming (external) and vet routines. Fertility managed in house.</p><p>Cows fed a full TMR diet.</p><p>The Role</p><p>We are looking for a competent assistant herdsperson who would like a variety of work. The role offers flexibility and the opportunity to focus on your areas of strength or enjoyment.</p><p>Main tasks</p><p>Milking - Once a day</p><p>Dry / young stock work</p><p>General stock husbandry tasks</p><p>Vet Routines</p><p>Day to day involvement with herd management</p><p>Tractor operations</p><p>Remuneration</p><p>Competitive salary</p><p>Regular time off</p><p>Choice of accommodation.
