Job Overview


We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Call Center Representative to join our healthcare services team. Key Responsibilities


As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for the following duties:


  • Patient Enrollment and Information Management: Process new patient enrollment by accurately entering information into our designated systems in accordance with state and government guidelines. Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure data integrity and patient safety.
  • Prescription Data Entry: Utilize arenaflex's prescription data entry procedures and guidelines to process new patient enrollments. Enter data into appropriate systems while adhering to strict accuracy standards and HIPAA regulations.
  • Medication Request Handling: Process patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines, including entering refill orders for processing. Investigate and obtain missing prescription information as needed.
  • Clinical Abbreviation Interpretation: Decode and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes) to ensure accurate prescription processing and patient safety.
  • Exception Resolution: Resolve all data entry-related exceptions efficiently and accurately, escalating complex issues to appropriate senior staff members when necessary.
  • Patient Communication: Handle correspondence with patients through inbound calls, visits, and emails. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to resolve issues or obtain necessary information.
  • Third-Party Resolution: Resolve third-party rejections by assessing situations, gathering information, creating prescriptions, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements. Contact insurance providers and other parties to obtain information, gain override approval, or otherwise resolve rejections.
  • Pharmacist Support: Provide assistance to Pharmacists both in-office and at other locations. Identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Ensure all activities align with state and federal healthcare regulations.
  • License/Certification Maintenance: Obtain an active technician license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain active status throughout employment.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Computer Skills: Basic level computer skills including the ability to start up and shut down computers, use mouse pointing and clicking, start and close programs, switch between programs, save documents, print documents, and access information online.
  • Web Navigation Skills: Basic web browser skills including opening a browser, typing URLs in the correct location, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing forms online.
  • Keyboard Proficiency: Intermediate-level keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 25 WPM, ability to type from memory, and organize documents effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ability to obtain and maintain active technician license or certification within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications


While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application:


  • Pharmacy Experience: At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
  • Advanced Certification: One and a half years as a pharmacy technician with certification/registration granted by the State Board for Pharmacies or a nationally recognized certification agency.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Experience providing customer care to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Advanced Keyboarding: Intermediate to advanced-level keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM, ability to type from memory, and organize documents efficiently.
  • Bilingual Skills: Fluency in both Spanish and English is highly desirable, enabling us to serve our diverse patient population more effectively.
