  • *Position Description**: Beal University invites applications for an adjunct instructor in our Associate Degree in Health and Wellness, specifically to teach a Concepts of Nutrition course.
    The instructor is directly responsible for the oversight of the academic class in their specialty including the activities that relate to the student experience and student success. Instructors are responsible for ensuring all class activities are in compliance with all regulatory bodies, including that of our institutional and programmatic accreditors.
  • *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have MS degree in Nutrition.
  • 4 Years of related work experience in providing nutrition services
  • Teaching: 3 years preferred
  • Faculty must be able to demonstrate an understanding of theory and practice, current knowledge and continuing study in the field.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (Canvas): preferred
  • *Position Responsibilities: Teach course(s) in a term(s) in an online format. Beal University runs on 8-week terms, running year-round.

Ensure all grades are maintained in the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and in accordance with established policies.

Review student success rates by class to develop and implement plans to reduce student attrition and fail rates.

Communicate with students who are not achieving a minimum grade of C+ through Beal University’s Canvas LMS to apprise them of their academic progress.

Respond to student communications within 24 hours.

Adhere to the current curriculum for the assigned classes, including course objectives, syllabi, and daily lesson plans for each course. Ensure that no changes are made to the curriculum before communicating with the Program Director.

Participate in curriculum review and periodic faculty meetings via virtual conference.

    Complete all mandatory instructor training as assigned.
  • *Education and/or Experience:**

Master's Degree in Nutrition required.

Experience directly related to the program is required. A minimum of four (4) years of experience directly related to the classes taught is preferred.

Online teaching experience required.
