The Role: Customer Engineer

As a Customer Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our innovative cloud solutions and our customers' business needs. You will work cross-functionally to introduce arenaflex Cloud to potential and existing customers, helping them understand the power of our platform and develop creative cloud solutions that address their unique challenges.

In this role, you will collaborate with a team of specialized Customer Engineers who are called upon by field sales representatives to support customer-facing engagements requiring deep technical expertise. Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for driving technical engagements and ensuring customer success through the following key activities:


  • Drive Business Opportunities: Support local sales teams in pursuing key business opportunities by engaging directly with clients to address all aspects of their data lifecycle and cloud transformation needs.

  • Technical Discovery & Architecture: Identify business and technical requirements, conduct comprehensive technical discovery sessions, and architect custom customer solutions that precisely meet gathered requirements.

  • Lead Technical Projects: Take ownership of technical projects including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, creating product and solution briefings, leading proof-of-concept work, and coordinating supporting technical resources.

  • Solution Development: Work directly with arenaflex Cloud Platform products to illustrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments, demonstrating the full capabilities of our solutions.

  • Client Engagement: Travel to client locations for meetings, technical reviews, and on-site delivery activities as needed to ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction.

  • Product Messaging: Prepare and deliver compelling product messaging that highlights the arenaflex Cloud Platform value proposition through various techniques including whiteboard presentations, slide demonstrations, white papers, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay ahead of enterprise trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of arenaflex Cloud products.

  • Problem Solving: Solve key technical challenges for customers, serving as a trusted advisor and helping fellow sales team members address complex customer issues.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, OR equivalent practical experience demonstrating equivalent skills and knowledge.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical customer-facing role such as Technical Representative, Technical Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar position involving direct customer interaction.

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience with traditional analytic data warehouse solutions, big data technologies, real-time streaming, performance optimization, or scalability enhancements.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to quickly research, understand, and implement new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions within the cloud and IT industry.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value for diverse audiences.

  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following additional qualifications will be strongly preferred:


  • Advanced Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Data Engineering Experience: Hands-on experience developing data warehousing solutions, data lakes, batch or real-time event processing systems, and ETL workflow solutions.

  • Data Management Expertise: Strong understanding of data and information management as it pertains to big data characteristics and challenges within enterprise organizations.

  • AI/ML Knowledge: Experience handling AI/ML and ML Operations issues as part of the data analytics platform and lifecycle.

  • Industry Recognition: Previous experience in customer-facing roles at leading technology companies or cloud service providers.

  • Certifications: Relevant cloud platform certifications or professional credentials in data engineering, machine learning, or cloud architecture.
