About the Role
As a Pharmacy Service Representative on our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy team, you will serve as a critical link between patients, health care providers, insurance companies, and our pharmacy operations. This is not your typical customer service position—this is an opportunity to be a compassionate advocate for patients who depend on specialty medications for their health and well-being.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive telephone support to patients receiving life-sustaining specialty drug therapy. Your responsibilities will span the entire patient journey, from initial enrollment through ongoing medication management. You'll be trained to handle complex scenarios with confidence, empathy, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Order Processing: Manage the overall coordination and processing of new patient medication orders and refills, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.
- Benefits Verification: Verify and revivify insurance benefits for specialty medications, working diligently to maximize coverage and minimize patient out-of-pocket costs.
- Prescription Management: Translate and accurately enter new prescriptions or refill requests into our pharmacy information system, maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Financial Coordination: Communicate professionally with patients to explain and collect copay amounts, ensuring transparency in all financial transactions.
- Authorization Management: Obtain necessary authorizations from insurance providers and health care professionals to ensure uninterrupted medication access.
- Insurance Liaison: Work directly with insurance companies, health care providers, and internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and appropriately defer orders that have accounts receivable or clinical issues.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that financial and clinical expectations are met prior to order fulfillment, maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
- Issue Resolution: Handle complex customer needs with patience and expertise, resolving escalations while maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in a customer service role handling and resolving high volumes of complex customer needs over the phone
- Minimum one year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email platforms
- Minimum one year of computer keyboarding experience with demonstrated skills and aptitude
- Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months or more of experience resolving high volumes of complex customer needs over the phone
- Background in health care work experience, particularly in benefits, insurance, prescriptions, or medical terminology
- Familiarity with specialty pharmacy operations or mail-order pharmacy processes
- Understanding of medical billing and coding concepts

Work Environment & Schedule
This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home office while still being an integral part of our team. You'll have access to comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure your success in this virtual environment.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM EST
This standard daytime schedule provides excellent work-life balance, allowing you to maintain your personal commitments while contributing meaningfully to patient care.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
