Our Studio Research and Analysis team sits at the heart of this innovation, providing critical insights that drive strategic decision-making across our streaming products, marketing initiatives, and content curation efforts. As a Data Analyst supporting our Streaming Product, Marketing, and Content Curation teams, you will play a vital role in helping us understand consumer behavior, optimize product features, and drive strategic initiatives that enhance the overall subscriber experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Marketing Strategy, Content Operations, and Analytics colleagues, to transform raw data into actionable insights that inform business decisions.

This is a hybrid position based in our Burbank, California office, with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. You will report to a Senior Administrator and become an integral part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities


As a Data Analyst at arenaflex, your contributions will directly impact how we serve millions of streaming subscribers. Your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Data Collection and Analysis: Assist with a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research activities, including the collection and mapping of data, as well as extraction and analysis of data from multiple sources to build charts, tables, and report sections that tell compelling stories with data.
  • Data Integration: Join disparate datasets using SQL to support the day-to-day operations of our streaming customer experience tracking initiatives. You will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy and consistency across various platforms and sources.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with different teams across the organization to conduct research, including communicating project objectives, business requirements, and timelines to efficiently prioritize, develop, and enhance our datasets.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with research partners within the team and from other departments of the organization, as well as external vendors, to ensure seamless execution of research initiatives.
  • Reporting and Insights: Analyze and design ongoing and ad-hoc reports using quantitative and qualitative data for various groups within product marketing, engagement, and product strategy. Your insights will directly influence key business decisions.
  • Project Management: Manage assigned projects, implement quality assurance processes, and report on assignments and status to supervisors to ensure completion within established timelines.
  • Strategic Partnership: Work with the Senior Administrator and team to ensure that every deliverable is strategically meaningful and drives strategic decision-making across the organization.
  • Technical Collaboration: Collaborate with the team and analytics groups within Snowflake and Databricks environments to leverage advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Documentation: Maintain both exceptional verbal and written knowledge of data elements and requirements to ensure clarity and consistency across all deliverables.
  • Critical Data Requests: Respond to critical data requests from internal clients with urgency and accuracy, ensuring that stakeholders have the information they need when they need it.
  • Presentation Support: Support the presentation of findings based on analysis conducted and contribute to related business discussions, helping translate complex data into understandable insights.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay at the forefront of SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) and In-Home industry trends amid a constantly evolving landscape, bringing fresh perspectives and best practices to the team.

Essential Qualifications


To succeed in this role, you will need:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, Psychology, Data Sciences, or a related field, combined with 3 years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree in one of these fields with 1 year of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong capability with SQL, including the ability to query and combine unique data sources to extract meaningful insights.
  • Data Integration Skills: Ability to extract data and merge it with different data sources to develop a rich, complete picture for the business.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong quantitative reasoning and analytical skills, with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in complex datasets.
  • Time Management: Capacity to work quickly and efficiently in a high-speed environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills, along with the ability to create clear and concise visual presentations that effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences.
  • Multitasking Abilities: Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work effectively in an environment of tight timelines and constant change.

Preferred Qualifications


While not required, the following qualifications would be advantageous:


  • Proficiency in data processing tools such as SPSS, Q, or MarketSight.

  • Experience with survey tools including Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, or similar platforms.

  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar systems.

  • Programming skills in R, Python, SAS, STATA, or similar languages.

  • Advanced degree in Market Research or Statistics.

  • Quantitative research background, either provider-side or client-side.

  • Experience analyzing survey data to extract meaningful insights that drive business decisions.

  • Experience with subscription-based business models and strategies.

Compensation and Benefits


We recognize that our employees are our greatest asset, and we are committed to providing competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $93,400 to $125,200 per year. The exact compensation offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
