What You'll Do
As a Data Analyst II within our Data Ventures organization, you'll play a critical role in translating complex data into meaningful insights that drive business growth. Here's what your journey will look like:
- Lead Quantitative Analysis: You'll conduct rigorous quantitative analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to uncover patterns and trends that aren't immediately apparent to others. Your insights will help shape product strategies and business decisions.
- Create Impactful Dashboards: You'll be the creative mind behind customer-driven dashboards that capture key performance indicators, helping our product teams make informed strategic decisions with confidence.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Working alongside various Data Ventures teams, you'll join your expertise with theirs to analyze, assess, and provide insights about our customers that drive comprehensive business strategies.
- Drive Data Product Innovation: You'll be a key player in our Data Enhancement initiatives, enabling new data products by providing accurate, high-quality data that powers innovation across the organization.
- Improve Operational Efficiency: Focus on data enhancement efforts that reduce costs while improving product efficiency – you'll see the direct impact of your work on our bottom line.
- Ensure Data Security and Quality: Collaborate with partners across arenaflex Digital Operations, Global Tech, and product teams to support the ethical and responsible use of data and technology.
- Storytelling with Data: Develop compelling data visualizations that communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders, making insights accessible and actionable for leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business and product stakeholders to solve challenging business problems and identify emerging trends and opportunities
- Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and data presentation to see beyond the numbers and deliver meaningful insights
- Define and evaluate key performance metrics for new product launches and initiatives
- Create data visualizations to monitor and measure the impact of product drives and complex business challenges
- Identify new approaches to help improve key financial data insights and understand root causes for changes in metrics
- Conduct exploratory data analysis including hypothesis testing, statistical inference, and comprehensive statistical analysis
- Collaborate with data stewards and data engineering teams to gather and process accurate information from diverse sources
- Work effectively cross-functionally and communicate data and insights to non-technical leadership teams
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance, or a related field – OR two years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or a related field
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with languages used to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets (SQL, Python, Presto, R, or Scala)
- Data Visualization: Demonstrated storytelling experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
- Analytical Skills: Strong exploratory data analysis abilities and the capability to make logical, data-driven recommendations and solutions
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the organization
- Adaptability: Comfortable with shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, these qualifications will help you stand out:
- Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or related field
- Advanced experience with data quality tools like Collibra, SAS Data Management, or IBM InfoSphere
- Experience with quality testing using Selenium, Cucumber, or Tosca
- Background in building multi-step ETL jobs/data pipelines and working with job scheduling systems
- Experience processing complex data on cloud platforms (Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or Hive)
- Experience with Data Modeling (E-R diagrams) and strong BI concepts
- Fundamental understanding of statistics and machine learning models
- Related industry experience in retail, e-commerce, marketing, healthcare, or finance
- Experience with additional tools including Teradata, Oracle, Apache Hive, and cloud-based analytics platforms
