- Job Description:
- Responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of assigned company global risk and insurance programs.
- Lead the development, negotiation, and administration of insurance placements and risk mitigation strategies aligned with the company’s operations and strategic objectives.
- Acts as a key advisor to business units and senior leadership on risk-related matters and ensures compliance with regulatory and contractual risk transfer requirements.
- Develop and manage assigned global insurance programs (property, casualty, cyber, D&O, aerospace, marine, professional, etc.), including annual renewals, broker engagement, and carrier relationships.
- Analyze risk exposure and recommend appropriate insurance coverage and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead complex claims management, including litigation strategy and resolution in coordination with Legal and external counsel.
- Support M&A and contract negotiations by identifying insurance and risk implications and recommending appropriate protections.
- Ensure alignment with public company requirements (SEC, SOX) and internal controls related to risk and insurance.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, compliance, operations, and other business units on risk-related initiatives.
- Serve as a deputy to the Senior Director and provide mentorship to the risk management team.
- Represent the company in key broker and insurer relationships, risk conferences, and industry groups.
- Lead special projects and risk assessments related to emerging risks, including climate, cyber, and geopolitical exposures.
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (JD, MBA) or professional designation (ARM, CPCU, CRM) strongly preferred
- 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate risk management or insurance, including leadership roles or 13+ years of relevant experience with a Masters degree
- Experience with publicly traded companies, particularly in the government contracting or defense sectors
- Deep knowledge of insurance products, risk financing, claims management, and enterprise risk practices
- Experience working for a large, multinational government contractor and working knowledge of U.S. Government FAR Clauses desired
- US Citizenship is required.
- Preferred: 8+ years of managerial experience.
