Position Overview

The Enterprise Data Storage Administrator will serve as a recognized subject matter expert in enterprise data storage operations and engineering. This critical role is responsible for overseeing and maintaining our data storage environments, ensuring data backup integrity, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing ongoing recommendations and best practices to enhance our storage infrastructure.

You will work with diverse storage technologies including Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Networks (SAN), and Direct Attached Storage (DAS) environments. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the reliability, performance, and security of arenaflex's data storage systems, ensuring business continuity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities


  • Storage Infrastructure Management: Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of enterprise data storage environments and lead the implementation of best practices for storage operations

  • Backup and Data Protection: Implement and maintain enterprise backup and data security technologies, ensuring comprehensive protection for all critical business data

  • Monitoring and Reporting: Efficiently manage and monitor reporting platforms and software to track storage performance, capacity, and health metrics

  • Capacity Planning: Define and implement trend storage design strategies based on industry standards and best practices to support business growth

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface and communicate with application, database, server, and other technology teams on architecture and deployment selection to ensure appropriate storage technology and configuration

  • Project Management: Exhibit strong organizational skills to adapt and prioritize tasks in a continuously changing work environment

  • Documentation: Contribute clear and concise documentation for both routine and sporadic tasks, maintaining comprehensive knowledge base resources

  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance on complex activities such as installation, configuration, and backup/restore operations for all storage systems

  • System Maintenance: Perform code updates and security patching to maintain the health and security of storage systems

  • Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure peak efficiency

  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures, ensuring business continuity in case of unexpected events

  • Technology Evaluation: Evaluate emerging storage technologies and provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements

Essential Qualifications


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data storage or related field with emphasis on networking and storage protocols

  • Industry knowledge and experience for large-scale SAN design and implementation

  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise storage administration with hands-on experience in DellEMC, Cisco, and similar Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)

  • Strong understanding of current and advanced data protection technologies

  • Experience with NAS concepts and protocols including CIFS, NFS, and S3

  • Knowledge of data synchronization technologies for both SAN and NAS environments

  • Operating system infrastructure networking skills (both Linux and Windows)

  • Proficiency in VMware concepts and networking

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred (equivalent combination of training, work experience, and education will be considered)
