Position Overview

The Enterprise Data Storage Administrator will be recognized as an informed authority in the discipline of Enterprise Data Storage Operations and Engineering. This role is central to arenaflex's technology infrastructure, responsible for overseeing and maintaining our data storage environments, defending data backups, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing ongoing recommendations and best practices to the organization.

You will work with diverse storage technologies including Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Networks (SAN), and Direct Attached Storage (DAS). Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our enterprise data storage systems. This position requires a strategic thinker who can balance immediate operational needs with long-term infrastructure planning.

Key Responsibilities

As an Enterprise Data Storage Administrator at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:


  • Infrastructure Management: Demonstrate an extensive understanding of enterprise data storage environments and take ownership of our critical storage systems.

  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and maintain enterprise backup and data protection technologies to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.

  • Monitoring and Reporting: Efficiently manage and monitor reporting platforms and storage management software to ensure optimal performance and early detection of potential issues.

  • Capacity Planning: Define and implement trend storage planning strategies based on industry regulations, best practices, and arenaflex's evolving business needs.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface and communicate with application, database, server, and other technology teams on architecture and deployment selection to ensure appropriate storage technology and configuration.

  • Project Management: Display strong organizational skills to shift and prioritize tasks in a continuously changing workplace while meeting critical deadlines.

  • Documentation: Contribute clear and concise documentation for both routine and sporadic tasks, maintaining comprehensive records of all storage operations and configurations.

  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance on complex activities such as installation, configuration, and backup/restore operations for all storage systems.

  • System Maintenance: Perform code updates and security patching to maintain the health and security of storage systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals to resolve complex storage-related issues and contribute to overall IT excellence.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:


  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in data storage or a related field with emphasis on networking and storage protocols.

  • Technical Expertise: Must have industry knowledge and experience for large-scale SAN design and implementation, with proven track record in enterprise storage environments.

  • OEM Experience: Demonstrated experience with enterprise storage hardware from major manufacturers, particularly DellEMC, Cisco, and similar OEMs.

  • Data Protection: Strong grasp of current and advanced data protection technologies, including backup solutions, replication, and disaster recovery methodologies.

  • NAS Knowledge: Experience with NAS concepts and protocols including CIFS, NFS, and S3.

  • Data Synchronization: Knowledge of data synchronization technologies for both SAN and NAS environments.

  • Operating Systems: Operating system infrastructure Network Skills, including both Linux and Windows server environments.

  • Virtualization: VMWare concepts and organization experience, including virtual storage configurations.

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent combinations of training, work experience, and education will be considered.
